Shallow Well - Kyempisi, Uganda
|
 |
One in six people in the world don't have access to clean water. The World Health Organization estimates that 6,000 children die each day from water-related illnesses. In this part of Uganda we have the ability to dig cost effective shallow wells. These wells will provide clean water to entire communities. They donate the land, provide free labor and set up a well committee to make sure the well is properly maintained. |

Family Agricultural Training & Equipping
|
 |
Bringing Hope to the Family has just started a new initiative to train families on better farming practices and how to better use local resources to produce a higher crop yield. This is a strategic program targeting specific families.
As part of the program, each family will be given:
40 matooke suckers (banana trees),
20 pineapple suckers,
2 passion fruit vines,
10 chickens &
5 iron sheets for chicken coup.
They will be taught and then monitored for how well they excel in the program. Families will then be expected to share and teach the practices they have learned with other families in the community. |

The majority of Ugandans living in poverty sleep on the ground(especially children). This makes it nearly impossible for them to use a mosquito net and further spreads sickness and disease. Providing a mattress is a great start in the process of improving hygiene and general quality of life. |

In this part of Uganda we have the ability to dig cost effective shallow wells. These wells will provide clean water to entire communities. Working with Bringing Hope to the Family we are continuing our work within the Katooke District. These people are in great need due to their remote location. The costs of this well is slightly higher than our standard $1400 due to the extra transport fees we incur getting all of the necessary materials out to this district. |

Bibles and Pastoral Study Materials
|
 |
There are so many in western Uganda that are spiritually hungry but lack a Bible of their own to read and study, especially a Bible translated into their own language, Rutooro. Additionally, local Pastors have no access to even the simplest of study materials with which to prepare their sermons or to gain knowledge and understanding for ministering to their congregations. Bibles will be handed out free of charge to all who desire one, and the study materials will form the basis of a lending library that local Pastors can utilize to gain further knowledge of the Scriptures |

Bringing Hope to the Family is adding a hair salon in the back of their Village Art craft shop. Currently there aren't many quality salons nearby. Bringing Hope believes this will be a great source of income generation for the organization. The salon is currently in need of several pieces of equipment before they can open for business. One of the items that they are in need of is a gas powered generator as electricity can be very unstable in this part of Uganda. |

Thank you for giving towards family agricultural training. This will change a families life forever. Also, thank you for giving towards mattresses. We are currently restructuring the orphanage and will be in need of many new mattresses. You're a blessing. To answer your question from long ago.
