Overview

Bringing Hope to the Family is a CBO (community based organization) based out of southwestern Uganda. BHTTF was started by a woman named Faith Kunihira. She had broken the cycle of poverty in her family and had a good life in the city, but after a visit back to the village where she grew up her heart was broken for her people. She quit her job and left everything to start BHTTF. She is now the Executive Director.

The majority of their work is focused on Faith's home region, the district of Kyenjojo. It lies at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. This mountain range seperates Uganda from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Since 2000, BHTTF has had over 1,500 OVC's (orphans and other volunerable children) register with their organization. They started with a focused emphasis on orphan care, but over the years have expanded their operations to include many other community development projects. In addition to their orphan program, they now run: Hope Again Medical Clinic, Home Again Orphanage, High Hope Preschool and Dorcas Vocational School.
