What is Know.Think.Act.?

Know.Think.Act. is a program of Global Support Mission.  It is an online community that connects you to the needs of the world.  You creatively raise money; locals enact the change.  You see the difference; they live the difference.  100% of the money you raise goes directly to the need you choose.

What is Global Support Mission?

Global Support Mission is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We exist to a movement of compassion wipe out hunger, disease and extreme poverty.  For more info go to www.globalsupportmission.com.

What is an Ally?

When you create an account on Know.Think.Act. you become an ally.  You receive an ally profile page and have the ability to start or join action groups.

What is an Action Group?

An action group is a group of allies that have come together to raise money for specific needs that they choose.  We believe that we can achieve more when we work together... so we put an emphasis on the action groups.  Communities of allies working together and in partnership with our network affiliates to change the world.

What is a Network Affiliate?

Know.Think.Act. is a program of Global Support Mission.  GSM operates by partnering with local CBO's and NGO's that were started and are continuing to be run by locals.  An example of a network affiliate would be Bringing Hope to the Family.  They are a CBO in western Uganda started by a woman named Faith.  She grew up in the community that her organization is now working.  You can check out her organizational profile here.

Does 100% of the money I raise REALLY go towards the need?

YES, 100% of the money you raise goes directly to the need that you choose to raise money for.  We don't take out any thing to cover our operation costs.  We even pay for the credit card and wiring fees ourselves. 

If 100% of the money raised goes directly towards the need then how do you operate Know.Think.Act.?

Do I have to be a part of an Action Group to give towards a need?

No, there are no restrictions on who can give towards a need.  You can give as a non-registered individual, an Ally or as part of an Action Group.

How do you guarantee that my money goes where it should once it is wired overseas?

Global Support has paid staff on the ground that oversee the handling of funds and ensures that all money is properly allotted to each specific need.  We keep thorough records and databases of transactions made to make sure that we are able to keep strict accountability.

How will you show me that my money went where you said it would?

We will notify you when your money has been wired to our affiliate.  We will also provide you with pictures upon completion of the project.

Is my giving tax deductible?

Yes, Global Support Mission is a registered 501(c)(3), so all gifts are tax deductable.  We ask that you make your donation as an individual if you wish to have a receipt for tax purposes.

Will I receive a giving statement at the end of the year?

Yes.  Global Support will provide you with a giving statement of your individual donations.  Please be aware that Global Support can not be held responsible for false reporting of individual giving.  If you request a giving statement, please be certain that it is of your own giving and not the combined efforts of an Action Group.  The government will hold you individually responsible for any false claims of giving.

Can I give with a check?

Yes, when you choose to purchase a Need you will be given a "project number."  Please include this number on the memo line of your check to assure it goes towards the appropriate need.  Please mail checks to:

How can I spread the word about Know.Think.Act.?

There are many ways that you can spread the word.  Click on Invite Allies to invite your friends and family to join the site.  You can also join our street team and help us promote through our grass roots movement.  Word of mouth, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace... we encourage you to use every outlet you have to get the word out and encourage others to join our community of action!
